If you are Malaysian, above 18 years old and with an annual income of less than RM100,000, you are eligible to claim RM30 in the form of digital credit from the government starting today.

According to The Star, the government has allocated RM450 million under the e-Tunai Rakyat program.

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng explained that this initiative is to encourage the use of digital payments.

Malaysians can claim the RM30 through one of the following three e-wallets: Touch N Go, Grab, or Boost. However, each individual can only claim the incentive once, regardless of how many e-wallet systems they have.

If you would like to claim the RM30, you would need to upload a photo of your MyKad as well as a selfie of yourself holding your MyKad as verification. The process is simple, and the approval is fast.

Once you have redeemed the RM30 credit, you can use it for any purchases that can normally be made from the e-wallet system, and must be used by 14th March 2020.

If you don’t have any of the e-wallet systems yet, you can download them from Google Play Store or Apple Store.
