JOHOR BAHRU, AUGUST 2021 – Johor Corporation (JCorp) through Johor Corporation Foundation (Yayasan JCorp) launched a Food Bank initiative that will benefit over 10,000 recipients in Johor affected by the Covid-19 pandemic with an estimated total contribution of over RM500,000.
The contributions were made through two methods, namely distributing 500 boxes of basic food such as rice, flour, and instant noodles for three months in several low-cost community settlements as well as providing JCorp Foundation’s Food Bank terminal at several publicly owned locations.
According to Mr. Rozaini Mohd Sani, Chairman of JCorp Foundation, “the basic food boxes will be handed over to those in need through the local community committee where the location is concentrated on high-populated settlements such as Larkin Flats, Taman Cempaka Flats, Taman Desa Mutiara Flats, Taman Air Biru Pasir Gudang Flats, Kampung Laut as well Kampung Sepakat , Skudai.”
The basic food box distribution also involved the assistance of volunteers of Brigade Waqaf Johor Corporation.
“Through this initiative, we are also providing the JCorp Foundation Food Bank terminal which will be operating this month at a number of focused premises such as @Mart Kempas, Pasar Awam Taman Dahlia as well as Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad’s estates,” he added.
JCorp Foundation Food Bank is a social responsibility initiative of JCorp and its’ Group of companies namely Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd, Johor Land Berhad, Damansara Assets Sdn Bhd and Waqaf An-Nur Corporation.
This campaign is aimed for supporting the State Government’s efforts in creating more access to food banks for Johoreans that are affected by the Cvoid-19 pandemic.
