CSR Malaysia 2020 : Back to School – 1st Jan 2020

Hershey’s Malaysia kicked off 2020 with their first Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program – “Back to School” at SK Taman Daya!

On 1st January 2020, CSR Hershey Malaysia collaborated with SK Taman Daya in welcoming new students who were attending school for the first time. This program, involving 9 CSR Hershey Malaysia committee members, benefited 145 first grade students and was conducted with the support of the District Education Officer in alignment with the School Transformation 2025 (TS25) initiative.

Some of the students were terrified about attending school on the first day, and the aim of this program was to ease their worries and to make them feel comfortable about attending school. Together with the school teachers, the CRS Hershey Malaysia committee members focused on creating an enjoyable day at school, with ice-breaking activities and positive reinforcements.

The students were also given surprises in the form of two goodie bags – one stationery bag with notebooks, pencils, and stationery case, and one Healthy Meal Bag which contained apples, UHT milk and Hershey chocolates. The delighted students truly had a memorable first day, and even fondly called the CSR Hershey Malaysia commitee members “Abang Cokelat & Kakak Cokelat” (Chocolate Brothers & Sisters).

This is just the beginning of 2020. Hershey Malaysia will be continuing to do more CSR programs – stay tuned!
